A Research Essays

For this step of the research project, create an outline and rough draft of your research essay.  Create a fully fleshed outline of at least one page. Your outline may be formal or informal. In the outline, include the following: a working thesis statement your main points supporting points that develop each of the main points The working thesis statement should be a complete sentence. The main points and supporting points may be either short phrases or full sentences. In the same file, include your rough draft. For the rough draft, focus on the body of your essay. Spend most of your time developing strong paragraphs that support your thesis. While you should also include an introduction and conclusion, these may be minimally sketched for this assignment. (Often, it is easier to work on introductions and conclusions after creating the body of the essay. For that reason, we will work on introductions and conclusions more fully in Week 4 as we revise and edit the research essays.)
